Joseph, Tamar, and the daughter of Tyre were given a coat of many colors!
When Joseph came forward with his dreams, his brothers hated him for it. His father saw a special promise in his life and gave him the coat of many colors which made his brothers furious with him. As a young man, their hatred through him in a pit, sold him out as a slave, and in so many words, left him for dead. To top this off, they had to go back home and tell their father Jacob that a wild animal killed him by showing him the bloody coat of promise and expressing their lie to stage what seemed to be an actual death. Imagine Joseph who was told through his dreams that his eleven brothers, his mother (the moon), and his father (the sun) would bow to him one day! What a place of sorrow for Joseph when God had given him a great promise.
Did you know that two women
in the Bible also had
a coat of many colors just like Joseph?
The king’s daughter in Psalm 45 and
Tamar, the daughter of King David,
were given a garment of promise,
a coat of many colors,
just like Joseph.
The king’s (prince’s) daughter has “clothing” of “wrought gold” and “raiment of needlework.” Another translation says that she has “robes of many colors”! Who is she? She is “the daughter of Tyre” who shall have “a gift” to present to “the king”. Who is The King of the whole earth? He is her Maker and Creator, and she calls him, Adonai, meaning Husband. Here you have the queen showing her light and leading the 144000 to the Lord to accept Him as Moshiach, the Messiah! All glory goes to the Lord for His mercy and grace. Praise him in the beauty of holiness and rejoice because Jacob (Israel) is redeemed. Has this prophecy been fulfilled? Isn’t it a requirement that all Scripture be fulfilled before the world is finished and all goes to destruction?
Ps 45:12
And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.
45:13
The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.
45:14
She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.
45:15
With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king’s palace.
Tamar, the daughter of King David, wore a coat of many colors before her own brother defiled her by forcing himself upon her. She was stripped her beautiful garment which had to be torn and thrown away, while she sat in her brother’s house desolate and without a chance to ever become a queen in the future! This was a sure death sentence for Tamar when she had the entire world right before her to be the first lady in the land one day. Read 2 Sam 13 to understand the entire story about Tamar. It is absolutely heartbreaking to know that God allowed this beautiful woman of promise to lose her rightful earthly position of honor to a lustful, evil brother, Amnon, also born in the house of David. She was Amnon’s sister and not to ever be his wife. After he took advantage of her, then, he threw her out and hated her.
And Tamar put ashes on her head, and rent her garment of divers colours that was on her, and laid her hand on her head, and went on crying.
And Absalom her brother said unto her, Hath Amnon thy brother been with thee? but hold now thy peace, my sister: he is thy brother; regard * not this thing. So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom’s house.
Did you know that according to the law, King David was supposed to have Amnon, his own son, tried and then, convicted of the wrong, and put to death? Tamar spoke words of wisdom to Amnon saying that King David, the father of both of them, would have given Tamar rightfully to him in marriage, if Amnon only asked him. He refused to do this and took away her every promise in his wickedness. What a mess in the house of the king!
Because of this wicked happening, the two, Absalom and Tamar were not with the others in Israel, but lived apart and away, banished as it were from the face of King David. Yet, how did King David really feel about Absalom when he cried out: Absalom, Absalom, my son, Absalom, and wept bitterly when Absalom died? There might be more to this story that what meets the eye. For now, it is important to note that Tamar was a woman who should have had an important place of honor in the kingdom at that time. It was her rightful position to be an honorable wife to a prince but then, lived a life of being shut up and in turmoil, holding her peace, as she was commanded to do. The loss of her estate and the bitterness of her life must have been just about unbearable for her.
The “robe of many colors” shows the seven colors of the rainbow which is a typing of the seven Gentile church ages where God turns to the Gentile to graft them into the true vine. This rainbow of His head is His glory and she is His bride, the true worshippers of the King in every age of the Gentile dispensation. Each color represents each age.
The final age at the top of the bow is red showing that a multitude will die for their testimony of Jesus and the word of God during the darkest hour known to mankind, the Great Tribulation. At that time, if you follow the Lord, it means your life because the beast will rule and change divine law to persecute the true believers. Then, a person must make the choice to either follow the beast or the Lord. There will be no in between to this situation or riding the fence as a Christian or Jew. You either accept the Moshiach (Messiah) and die or deny the Moshiach (Messiah) and live for a short space longer and get the flames of hell for taking the mark of the beast.
For this reason, it is imperative that you find out what the mark of the beast is and replace this mark with the mark or token of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God in your life instead. The saints shall crown the Lord, as His glory, whether we die a martyr’s death or not. Each follower of the Lord is to forsake his/her earthly desires, take up their own cross, and follow the Lord and His Word, not the world, not worldly ways and pleasures, and not the world systems. We all die to ourselves and are reborn in Him in order to gain eternal life. Those who are “alive and remain” during the time of Jacob’s trouble, will either be caught away or brought to the throne of God through the two witnesses of Rev 11. A true witness wins many souls. These are the stars in his crown.
The Holy Spirit residing inside of you is your Token and Promise today. Gain Christ inside and live eternally. Hear the Word, turn from wicked ways, repent of your sins, be washed in the water of the Word, and be baptized in His name. With His Word residing within your vessel, you will be clothed with white raiment, clean and holy, before Him. This is your coat of many colors given to you by your Father in Heaven who should also be your Husband, and you as, adorned as a bride for your husband. Rev 21
Crown the Lord with your glory and you will not ever lose your reward. Be part of His rainbow of promise, clothed with truth, and you will be “precious” in His sight as you give your life to and for Him.
Shalom,
